Building and Enforcing Child Support Agreements
Child support agreements are a fundamental part of many divorces. A number of factors go into calculating child support. It is important to have a skilled and experienced child support lawyer on your side who can help you protect your rights and financial wealth.

Illinois Basic Child Support Guidelines
Here are the basic child support guidelines in Illinois:
- One child: 20 percent of take-home income
- Two children: 28 percent of take-home income
- Three children: 32 percent of take-home income
- Four children: 40 percent of take-home income
- Five children: 45 percent of take-home income
- Six children or more: 50 percent of take-home income
Please note that these guidelines can be deviated from depending on the needs of the parties and the best interests of the child.
Child Support Enforcement
I represent clients who need to enforce an existing child support award. If your former spouse, for whatever reason, fails to live up to his or her obligation, I can help you seek legal remedies, including:
- Garnishment of wages
- Levy bank accounts
Child Support Modifications
Of course, times and situations can change, and when they change significantly enough, such as a change in income or employment, I can help you petition the court to modify child support agreements. Having a child support lawyer on your side who can help you understand the realities of the law and how to pursue a legitimate modification to an agreement will play a substantial role toward the result you obtain.
